On the flanks of Squaw Valley's Broken Arrow Peak is a challenge of space, mind, and teamwork.

FIRST...Your group will learn basic topographical map and compass reading skills.

THEN...you'll set out to negotiate the beautiful terrain in search of subtle trail markers.

This program can be set up as a competition, or just as an excellent way to hone interpretive, communication, delegation, and cooperation skills.

And... is it ever fun!

Our Group Orienteering Program, fun and useful for any group, is a challenge of space, mind, and teamwork. Interpretive and analytical skills as well as leadership and decision making processes are put to the test at the forested, mountainous course on the flanks of Squaw Valley's Broken Arrow Peak. Teams strive to communicate and work together in order to complete the course and to hone their group problem-solving skills. Effective delegation, responsibility-sharing, and cooperation are the skills and goals targeted for this program.

Long a national pastime of Scandinavian Countries, orienteering offers a variety of lessons on different tasks. Learn topographical map and compass reading skills as well as appreciate the benefits of working together as you hike beautiful terrain in search of subtle trail markers. Because of the demands of completing the course, which does not require great stamina or fitness, team members learn to work together and to assist one another based on the individual's strengths and areas that need improvement.

In the corporate realm, workers pair up or work in teams to meet or exceed the needs of the work environment. In the same manner, they must successfully navigate this course and understand its complexities. Such a scenario can be directly transferred to application in business situations, where quality and deadlines are crucial. Our facilitators can assist the group, through interactive discussion, in applying the lessons learned through the Group Orienteering program to the workplace.
